Graphene technology licensing company Avadain, Inc. has been recognized as one of three Midsouth startup companies to watch in 2024.
Avadain is upscaling its globally patented, highly differentiated technology to manufacture large, thin and nearly defect free (LTDF) graphene flakes to supply burgeoning demand for this super material to make thousands of products stronger, lighter, more conductive and more durable.
First isolated in 2004 by two researchers at the University of Manchester, LTDF graphene boasts a combination of fantastic properties – 200 times stronger than steel, ~1,000,000 times the conductivity of copper, 100 times the electron mobility of silicon and the ability to lightweight products while adding strength, flexibility and durability. Economist and tech futurist George Gilder predicts graphene will have an $11.5 trillion macro-economic impact.
“We are honored by the Memphis Business Journal‘s recognition as one of three startups to watch in 2024,” said Bradley Larschan, Avadain’s CEO.
