At Avadain, we have always believed that LTDF graphene is not just a scientific breakthrough. It is a manufacturing platform with the potential to reshape materials performance across energy, defense, electronics, infrastructure, and industrial applications. One of the most encouraging signals we have seen is that investors have responded to that vision again and again through our Regulation Crowdfunding campaigns.
That matters because crowdfunding is not only about capital, but is also about validation. When hundreds of investors back a deep-tech company working on a hard materials problem, they signal that they see both the commercial opportunity and the strategic relevance. For us, that support has helped confirm that the market understands the need for premium graphene and the importance of producing it domestically at scale.
A Quick Word on Regulation Crowdfunding
Regulation Crowdfunding, often called Reg CF, was created to let private companies raise capital online from everyday investors through registered intermediaries. It opened a path for startup investing to reach beyond traditional venture circles, while still operating within a regulated framework established by the SEC. In other words, it gave innovative companies another way to build broad-based support while giving investors access to opportunities that were once far less accessible.
For a company like Avadain, that framework has been especially valuable. Deep-tech materials companies often require patient capital, strong conviction, and investors who understand that a breakthrough platform can unlock many end markets at once. Reg CF has allowed us to tell that story to a wider audience and build a community of investors who want to participate in the commercialization of LTDF graphene.
Our Track Record
Our prior crowdfunding rounds were not modest experiments. They produced real momentum. Avadain’s first crowdfunding campaign raised more than $1.36 million. In our second round, we oversubscribed the $3.5 million round and ranked in the top tier of crowdfunding campaigns. Then in 2025, our third round launched with extraordinary speed, reaching $500,000 in less than three hours, $1.45 million in the first 24 hours, and the initial cap in just four days before the raise was increased. Avadain later announced that the round closed fully subscribed at $5 million.
Those milestones are important for two reasons. First, they show repeat investor enthusiasm across multiple rounds rather than a one-time spike of curiosity. Second, they suggest that more people are beginning to understand what makes Avadain different: we are not selling generic graphene powder into a crowded commodity market. We are building a capital-light licensing business around the only known process for manufacturing large, thin, defect-free graphene flakes at commercial scale.
Why Investors Have Responded
We believe investors have responded to a combination of factors. The first is the quality of the material itself. Much of the graphene market has been held back by products that are too small, too thick, or too defect-laden to deliver the performance graphene is famous for on paper. LTDF graphene is different, and that difference matters in real applications.
The second is the commercial model. Our licensing strategy is designed to scale faster and more efficiently than a build-everything-ourselves model. It is one reason progress such as our pilot-plant work and manufacturing partnerships has resonated so strongly with investors. Recognition from outside observers has helped reinforce that momentum as well, including Avadain being named a 2025 Emerging Entrepreneur by the Memphis Business Journal and Brad Larschan receiving a crowdfunding industry Rocket Award tied to Avadain’s fast Reg CF debut.
The third is timing. Domestic manufacturing, supply-chain resilience, energy efficiency, and defense readiness are no longer niche talking points. They are major national priorities. Investors increasingly understand that a U.S.-based advanced materials company with a differentiated technology platform can sit at the intersection of all four.
Looking Ahead
We see prior success as evidence that a broad investor base is ready to support a company pursuing premium graphene the right way: with defensible technology, a scalable commercialization strategy, and a focus on domestic industrial impact.
We are grateful for the investors who have backed Avadain so far, and we do not take that trust lightly. Their support has helped move LTDF graphene out of the lab and closer to widespread commercial use. If the earlier rounds showed that people are willing to believe in the future of graphene, the next phase is about showing just how much value can be created when that graphene is finally the right kind, made the right way, and scaled in America.
